Steph's cousin Lisa and her family visit, and then everyone travels to Whistler, Canada.

When Brandon and Lisa get to town, everyone goes to dinner at Southpark in downtown Portland. The service was very slow, but the food was worth it.

After dinner, we head down to the waterfront. On the way, Brandon and Sagan try out the echoing stairs at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Great timing: the Queen of the River goes through the raised Burnside Bridge.

Salmon Street Springs, a pretty neat fountain, was off for the evening, but everyone jumped around in it anyway.

We all ride the MAX train back towards the car.

The next morning, Sagan says goodbye to Cutter, before they head off to Whistler.

After a few days, Steph and Peter drive up to Whistler, Canada to stay with Brandon and Lisa.

Planning the day's activities: the men will go rock climbing, and the women will paint pottery in the village.

Steph decides to paint fish on tiles, for the new shower at home, while Lisa paints a "wonky" cup for her friend Jill.

It took about seven hours of painting to finish these up.

"I'm painting your cup, Jill!"

Ready to be fired in the kiln: Steph's big blue fountain cracked while being fired, though.

The shop owner liked Lisa's work so much that she asked her to paint a platter to be displayed on the wall.

The next morning: vacations aren't supposed to be about work!

Peter plays golf, somewhere down there.

Steph picks up the now-fired pieces: Lisa's cup.

Lisa finishes the platter. Its final colors will be similar to her cup above.

All that work, and I'll never see it finished!

After dropping off the platter and doing some serious shopping, Steph and Lisa have bonded.

Dinner time! We ate at the local Thai restaurant. Sagan and his Papa look exactly alike!
